In short
- Lilka is the platform. The event or appointment itself is provided by the organiser or business you book with.
- You need to be 18 or over to have an account, book or buy.
- Free cancellation on appointments up to 24 hours before. Ticket refunds depend on the organiser’s policy, which you see before paying.
- If an event is cancelled, you get your money back automatically.
- These terms don’t affect your legal rights as a consumer.
1About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and MKC TV (“Lilka”, “we”, “us”). By using Lilka you agree to them. Please read them alongside our privacy policy, refund policy and community guidelines.
If you host events or take bookings on Lilka, our organiser and business terms also apply to you.
2What Lilka does
Lilka helps you find events, buy tickets and book appointments with local businesses. We provide the website, take payments and send your confirmations and tickets.
The event or appointment is provided by the organiser or business, not by Lilka. Your contract for the event or service is with them, and they are responsible for delivering it as described. When you pay for a ticket, we collect the money on the organiser’s behalf.
3Your account
- You must be 18 or over.
- Give accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password private. You’re responsible for what happens on your account until you tell us it has been misused.
- If you think someone else has used your account, change your password and email contact@lilka.co.uk straight away.
- You can see, change and download your data in Your account.
- You can deactivate your account at any time: it’s hidden and signed out, and signing in again brings it back. A deactivated account that isn’t reactivated within 90 days is deleted for good.
- You can delete your account at any time. To get it back, just sign in again within 30 days; after that it’s deleted for good.
- Tickets you’ve already bought stay valid whatever happens to your account.
Our privacy policy explains what we keep after an account is deleted and why.
You can also book appointments and buy tickets as a guest, without an account.
4Booking appointments
- Your booking is with the business. We email a confirmation with your booking reference (for example LK-7F3K9Q).
- Unless the booking page says otherwise, you pay the business in person on the day.
- You can cancel for free up to 24 hours before your appointment using Manage my booking.
- If you cancel later than that or don’t turn up, the business may charge a fee, but only if they told you about it before you booked.
- If the business needs to move or cancel your appointment, they will contact you as soon as they can.
5Buying tickets
- The price you see before paying includes VAT and any booking fee ([booking fee, e.g. 5% + 49p per paid ticket, or none]).
- Your order is confirmed when we email your tickets. Each ticket has its own QR code.
- Each QR code lets one person in, once. Keep it private: if someone else uses it first, the organiser may not let you in.
- Your tickets are on a private page; the link is in your confirmation email. You can print them or show them on your phone.
- Only the event’s organiser, signed in to their own Lilka account, can check a QR code and let you in. If your order is refunded, its QR codes stop working.
- We may refuse or cancel an order, or stop an email address from buying, if we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.
- Bring photo ID to events with an age limit.
- Organisers can refuse entry, or ask people to leave, for safety reasons, age limits or behaviour. Whether you get a refund then depends on their event conditions and the reason.
- We may limit how many tickets you can buy in one order.
6Cancellations, changes and refunds
Full details are in our refund policy. The key points:
- Event cancelled: you get the ticket price back automatically.
- Event moved or changed a lot (new date, new venue or main act gone): you can choose to keep your tickets or get a refund.
- Otherwise: the organiser’s refund policy applies. It is shown on the event page before you pay.
The 14-day cancellation period for online purchases doesn’t apply to tickets for leisure events on a specific date. This is set out in the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Your other consumer rights still apply.
7Reselling tickets
Tickets are for your own use or to give to people you know. Please don’t resell them for more than you paid, or through websites the organiser hasn’t approved.
We may cancel tickets bought with automated software (bots), or resold in breach of these terms or the organiser’s conditions. If you can’t go, contact the organiser first.
8Using Lilka fairly
Don’t misuse Lilka. That includes creating fake bookings, scraping data, testing our security without permission or harassing organisers, staff or other attendees. Our community guidelines have the full list.
9Our responsibility to you
We provide Lilka with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires. We are not responsible for the event or appointment itself, which is the organiser’s or business’s responsibility.
We are not responsible for losses that weren’t reasonably foreseeable when you used Lilka, or for business losses.
If we are responsible for a loss, the most we will pay is the amount you paid through Lilka for the order or booking it relates to.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
10Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account, or cancel orders, if we reasonably believe it has been used for fraud, breaks these terms or puts other people at risk. Unless the law or a safety concern stops us, we’ll tell you why and how to appeal.
We may also suspend an event (hide it and stop sales while we look into it) or remove it from Lilka. If we remove an event, we refund the tickets sold for it in full unless we tell you otherwise.
To protect accounts, our team may also sign an account out on all devices, require a new password, turn off two-step sign-in at the owner’s request, unlock an account, or briefly pause sign-ins, sign-ups or ticket sales for everyone while we deal with a problem. Each of these actions is recorded in our audit log.
11Changes to Lilka and these terms
We keep improving Lilka, so features may change. If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we’ll tell you by email or on the site before the change takes effect. Bookings and tickets you already have stay under the terms you agreed to.
12Complaints and the law
If something goes wrong, email contact@lilka.co.uk with your booking or order reference and we’ll try to put it right.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
